Article COMPOSITE PROBLEMS OF THE TALL BUILDINGS ON LERMONTOV SQUARE
Authors S. Timerbaeva, Moscow Institute of Architecture (State Academy), Moscow, Russia
Abstract The high-rise buildings of the post-war Moscow are as if growing from the earth- this is the main visual image, which causes each of the seven built elements of the ensemble of the Stalin era.

The intense vertical development is typical for all of them. This is due to a compositional theme of growth, but the theme manifests itself in different ways. There are two manifests of the theme in architecture of the building in Lermontov square: the one is the image of the resistance to the growth and the second is the image of incompleteness or the continuous formation. There are special means of depiction working on these images, which were identified in the performed analysis.
Keywords: artistic image, compositional theme, structuring, development of vertical
