Abstract The article is dedicated to innovative activity to evaluate using non destructive tests a microbial biodeterioration activity level of mural paintings of the church architecture by the example of the Voskresensky (Resurrection) cathedral and of the Kouvuklia - Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre in Rotunda at the New Jerusalem Voskresensky Stauropegial Monastery. On basis of worked out method of the microbial deterioration location in mineral building materials an integrated studies of mural painting, glazed tiles, mouldings, limestone and brickwork of interior walls in the architectural monuments were carried out.

The aim of this study research was to characterize and to represent in two-dimensional images the results of moisture content measurements and of chemoorganotrophic microorganisms (bacteria and mold fungi) distribution on surface and subsurface construction layers. The developed schema of realization planigraphic analysis of wall painting's biodeterioration may serve as a technological and image information improvement to evaluate the microbial contamination level of paint layer of murals and its base (ground, plaster, masonry and brickwork) and may be required on the architectural design of the restoration and renovation of the New Jerusalem Monastery.
Keywords: church architecture, mural paintings, microbial contamination, microorganisms-destructors, identification, quantitative estimation, moisture content, planigraphic analysis of biodeterioration
