Abstract |
Upon the review of master’s degree programs of 26 world’s best architecture schools, the main trends in master’s-level education were define. Sustainable development is considered as a key concept of education. This conception is stated in the taught programs of architecture schools, and then it is supported by master’s degree courses. There are three key directions have been marked out: 1) digital design techniques; 2) ecological design; and 3) research activity in design. The ways to introduce advanced digital design techniques into educational process (different methods of digital design, change from virtual models (prototypes) to large-scale physical models, applying principles of parametric design in master's thesis, etc.) are discussed in the given article. Digital design techniques are believed to have a considerable impact on the educational process organization at master’s level in the best architecture schools. In the following publication the ecological design and research activity design will be considered, and the state of affairs in the mentioned above directions at Master’s level in Russian architecture schools will be given and analyzed.
