Article SPACE PLANNING AND COMPOSITION OF RACECOURSE GRANDSTANDS IN UKRAINE
Authors A. Gorina, Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, Kiev, Ukraine
Abstract This article analyses the peculiarities of spatial planning solutions of racecourse grandstands. The main requirements are described by the example of racecourse designs of the Western Europe. The main functional area of the stands are presented, their formation into spatial blocks. The options of compositional location of the grandstands on the master plan relative to racecourse pitch are considered.

To increase profitability and comfort of the racecourse, it is recommended to combine spectacular and entertaining blocks into one building to be able to use it when there are no competitions on the racecourse. The basic condition during designing grandstands is to create unrestricted visibility while complying with the seating critical distance. A new approach in the design of the grandstands will make it possible to increase the demand for racecourses and create the conditions for the organization of international competitions.
