Article OPTICAL ILLUSIONS IN THE ARCHITECTURAL SPACE. RENAISSANCE AND BAROQUE

Abstract The paper studies the history of the so-called bogus or illusory techniques in architecture (from Lat. Illusio - error). Master of Architecture at all times regarded as their goal not only the organization of the environment of human activity, but also tried to surprise and delight his creation, both contemporaries and future generations. Based on the characteristics of human visual perception, they have resorted to a variety of optical "tricks" to create an amazing composition effects, enhance artistic expression facilities, to help them achieve unusual, entertainment of its object. In this paper the historical experience of the application of the compositional devices.
