Abstract	The problems of man-made creation are especially important in the current century – the age of scientific and technological progress and the digital age. The ownership by thinking and reasoning with pencil in hand is a priority skill in the set of the modern architect skills. The graphical method for architectural sketches performing is easy, widespread and has many others features and advantages. There can be applied a lot of graphic and pictorial means as working material. The data of article is based on the review and classification of basic graphic techniques that have been used and are currently used by architects in their daily practice. By way of illustration there are used several graphic sketches of masters of the Soviet school of architecture of the twentieth century, 30-50, provided by the Museum of Moscow Architectural Institute. The research for Soviet architects secret skills of the architectural sketching allows modern architects to improve their creative method of work while architectural training and practice.The article is based on the treatises devoted to both the architectural graphics and the historical aspects of the development of Soviet school of architecture.
