Article URBAN PLANNING IN A FACE OF NEW CHALLENGES

Abstract In conditions of growing economic crisis, urban development sector have to play an important role in stabilizing the situation. Successful urban development in a changing environment will not be possible without proper coordination of political, administrative and financial interests of individuals, groups and society as a whole. Therefore, all decisions must be consistent with the highest principles of crisis management and the interests of the whole society, not a separate group. In such circumstances, the urban planning system will be strategically focused and organized. It should also be effectively controlled by monitoring the implementation of the strategy. The planning system oriented strategy can mobilize the necessary resources for development. Improving the system of urban planning through the development of strategic plans and programs, and accordingly, the selection criteria for the evaluation of the implementation will also help to improve the quality of life and harmonization of management arrangements development of cities and regions.
