Abstract | The formed transport infrastructure of Azerbaijan was generated under the influence of many
factors, including difficult physical and geographical features, and also social and economic
conditions of separate regions of republic. As a result of long-term works in Azerbaijan a network
of transport communications with transport knots of two levels (local and regional) was formed
here, combining the main types of transport: automobile, railway, pipeline, air and sea.
Baku-Sumgait, Yevlakh, Gjandzha, Gazakh-Agstafa, Shirvan-Kazimagamed-Alyat, Nakhichevan- Dzhula, Balaken-Zagataly, Lenkoran-Astara, Karabakh concern to the developed regional transport knots with difficult infrastructure. Typical features of the basic transport knots of Azerbaijan are considered, their role in settling of Azerbaijan is revealed, transport accessibility of separate economic region of Azerbaijan is analysed in the article. Considering the scheme of placement of the basic communications and transport knots of Azerbaijan, made by the author, it is necessary to note, that transport arteries of the country are most developed from the East on the West, and also in Baku - Astara, Baku - Khudat, Yevlakh- Agdam and Yevlakh-Balaken direction. Communications of the Nakhichevan Autonomous republic owing to geopolitical features are cut off from the general transport infrastructure of the country. |
