Authors V. Dormidontova, Moscow State University of Technologies and Management by K.G. Razumovsky, Moscow, Russia
Abstract The article is dedicated to the sourses of the landscape picturesque garden in Europe, vividly contrasting to the previos long ages tradition of regular gardens. The origin and meaning of the principles of policentrical composition of garden space are realized by the author. The substantional compositional differences between the chineese gardens and the european picturesque parc are determined. The appearance of the new type of garden space organization is linked with the mechanical picture of the world. The description of the gradual development of the picturesque garden in the works of C. Bridgeman, A. Pope, L. Brown, W. Chambers is offered. On the examples of the gardens, designed by William Kent, the characteristic features of the mature style are determined.
