Abstract | Process of replacement of several religions had occurred in the north-western district of Azerbaijan for many centuries. Each of them gave the birth to new, peculiar religious buildings and furthered interpenetration of architecture of different religions to each other. In the result of analyses of preserved monuments one can come to conclusion that hall type churches- one nave basilicas and dome halls, three-nave basilicas, round temples, “free cross” and cross-domical churches were erected in the investigated area. Mosques of the district can be differentiated according to the naves quantity that had reflected on the inner space decision. They can be divided also in accordance with quantity and placement of the arches on facades. Analyses of the present condition of the monuments as well as the problems of their preservation are under investigation in the given article. | ||||
