| Abstract |
Involvement level of artistic and compositional aspects in architectural design has significantly decreased lately. Onrush of science and technology doesn’t encourage improvement of the environment’s artistic-and-compositional quality. Experience shows that the shape-generating role of artistic and compositional factors is no less important for architectural design than the shape-generating role of engineering and technical factors. Examples are known of city space’s negative psychological influence, and the reason is lack of compositional work of due quality. Traditionally, the architect used to be the only specialist in construction industry, who was able and was supposed to deal with matters of composition. Against the background of actively developing design, architectural profession is losing its professional identity.
