| Abstract |
The article contains a brief biography of Italian architect Mario Chiattone. The name of this
architect concerns to almost unknown not only in our country, but also in the homeland of the
architect, in Italy. His practical works are mentioned only in a context of practical and theoretical
works of the founder of architectural futurism – Antonio Sant'Elia. Article is an attempt to restore
the historical importance of theoretical and practical works of M. Chiattone and to define its
contribution to formation of the Italian culture and, in particular, in architectural futurism. Showing
achievements of this master, the author tries to include them in a context of history of futurist and
rationalist movements in Italy and to underline their value for the Italian architecture.
