Article RECONSTRUCTION OF CITY SPACE FOR DECREASE OF CRIMINALITY

Abstract The author of article tells about correlation places of crime and physical features of urban space. The article is expository. In the article there are historical analyze of this subject, examples of crime in the urban space of western cities and cities of Latin America. Researches of Oscar Newman and Ian Colquhoun are base for this material. There is a try to work with places of crime in Russian cities. Also the author shows us that communities are shaping special physical environment and give special rules of behavior including the crime. The other sides of successful community’s living are physical features and ecological situation. Author’s model describes correlation of level of crime and physical features of urban space (permeability and accessibility). The article contains recommendations for modernization of design system and territory management in the Russian conditions.
