Authors M. Gorodova, Institute of Russian painting, Moscow, Russia
Abstract Coincidentia oppositorum - this paradigm presents a unique task that has always stood in front of a sacred art, aimed the transformation of the world invisible to the visible world by means of symbols, images, analogies. The two simplest geometric shapes - said in a Handbook for cleric - a ball (circle) and a cube (square), covering the universe for the ancient consciousness, should have been reflected in art.
Keywords: squaring the circle, the symbolism of space, the law of analogy, the geometry and number in the architecture, proportion and harmony
