| Abstract |
The offered paper is devoted to consideration of typology of the traditional city dwelling in Iran. The effect of climate on the formation of a traditional dwelling, the planning and compositional structure of residential buildings and courtyard territories are defined, a classification scheme of the traditional urban housing is reviewed.
From author point of view it is very important, because today Iran is an active construction of housing and urban housing should be built in such a way as to accomplish the traditional lifestyles of the Iranians at its best. Thus, today we need to integrate the experience of creating traditional housing and modern urban housing needs. Article is based on studies of traditional residential architecture of historical cities in Iran. |
