COLOURED LIGHT AND COLOURED SURFACE.
EXPERIMENT: HUMAN EYE VS CAMERA LENS

Authors

A. Prikhodko, Moscow Institute of Architecture (State Academy), Moscow, Russia

Abstract The article describes original experiment that was held at department of "Architectural physics" at the Moscow Architectural institute. Experimenters were put in closed space lit by colored light where they had to copy pictures of the famous artists. The experiment goal was to identify the difference in perception and interpretation of colored surface lit with coloured light between  human eye and camera lens (the objective image). Additionally change in work capacity, attention and general condition of experimenters before and after the task were monitored. As a result new hypotheses important for the development of scientific base of lighting design were formulated and ways for their verification were found. Some recommendations are made on using colored light in city scale lighting projects.
