Article MOSQUES CONSTRUCTED IN XIX CENTURY IN LENKORAN-ASTARA REGION OF AZERBAIJAN REPUBLIC

Abstract The article describes stylistic features of mosques built in the 19-th century in the Lankaran-Astara region of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Their planning structures, basic building materials are considered, other characteristic features in the interior and exterior of buildings are emphasized. A total of 14 mosques are described. The study of these architectural monuments was carried out on the basis of literary and archival materials, full-scale measurements and photographs. As a result of the research, two classifications of buildings were worked out: on the basis of the state of monuments and their planning features. The article considers not only mosques, but also auxiliary facilities at them.
