Article SELF-COMPACTING CONCRETE IN ARCHITECTURAL STRUCTURES

Abstract The article deals with the history of the development of concrete, the creation, composition, properties and advantages of self-compacting concrete compared to conventional concrete. Due to its properties, self-compacting concrete has become widespread in Western Europe. At first it was used at the enterprises which made ready reinforced concrete products, then begins to be applied actively as "transport concrete", concrete which is delivered and stacked directly on a construction site. It is used in the following areas of construction: in the construction of hydraulic structures; for the manufacture of precast concrete; in the construction of monolithic floors without joints; for structures with high-quality surface, which does not require additional processing; in the construction of fences or thin walls, when the minimum weight of floors and other purposes. Thus, its use in modern high-Tech architecture can be in demand as it allows to build architectural structures of various forms.
