Article FORMATION OF MEDITERRANEAN ISLAND ARCHITECTURE IN HISTORICAL RETROSPECTIVE. PART 5: THE BRONZE AGE

Abstract The article presents a study of the architectural and construction case in Cyprus during the Bronze Age. Cause-effect relations of civilizational changes in connection with population migration and climate changes in Cyprus are traced. The methods of construction and architectural planning reconstruction of residential buildings, changes in the urban planning arrangement of settlements are analyzed; applied building materials and structures are examined. The obtained results of the study of this stage development formation of architectural and construction case are presented, which based on many examples of examined and being under archaeological excavations settlements of Cyprus. Conclusions about the interrelation between the culture of Cyprus and continental cultures have been derived and simultaneously its distinctive features have been revealed.
