Article PARAMETRISM AS A DIRECTION OF THE MODERN PROJECT ACTIVITIES

Abstract The first decade of the 21th century in the architectural world showed the increasing growth of the researches and experiments conducted by the project groups of the world-leading architects. One of the actively developing direction of this movement is called Parametrism. Among other project experiments Parametrism stands out by a clear and integral theoretical platform defined in the works of Patrik Schumacher. This article analyses the main regularities that characterize the innovative project practice and that are essential for the direction in question. In the first instance it is the conditionality of the principles of the organization of the architectural environment with Postfordism as the leading economic platform forming the requirements of the society. Among the characteristic regularities of the parametrism one can also name a new view of the relations between the architectural form and function and a new reading of the classical professional categories: immensity and tectonics.
