Article THE COMPARISON OF COMPOSITIONAL PRINCIPLE OF ARCHITECTURAL ORDER AND GENERATIVE METHOD OF MORPHOGENESIS
Authors E. Shirinyan, Moscow Institute of Architecture (State academy), Moscow, Russia
Abstract We can observe a certain attention to historical architectural styles within contemporary digital architecture. However such a traditional approach in morphogenesis – composition – happens to be outside the digital discourse. Composition of architectural order and generative morphogenetic principles are evaluated in this article. The investigation of Vitruvius treatise provided by G.S. Lebedeva reveals the very notion of composition in a new way, and facilitates the possibility to compare the compositional principle of acrhitectural order and contemporary generative techniques (J. Frazer, N. Oxman, M. Hansmeyer) in some aspects. The notions of tectonics, base scheme (diagram) etc. The outcomes of comparison provide a basis for intensive exploration of generative approach and lead to rethinking the tradition of architectural order.
Keywords: architectural order, tectonics, mimesis, composition, diagram, digital architecture, form generation, morphogenesis
