Abstract |
Our research was aimed at working out information modeling methods of wooden architectural monuments. Undoubtedly the requirements for the computer reconstruction of such unique objects presuppose the use of an individual working approach in each particular case. The Zashiver’s Church located now in Novosibirsk, was taken as a direct object for the information modeling which is the only example of authentic architecture of tent-type roofed churches of Moscow Russia surviving in Siberia.
However we tried to work out a general algorithm for creating an information model of an architectural monument on the example of this church, built of timber, defined the main peculiarities, problems and complications arising in this modeling. The information model of the church was created for its further use in the process of carrying out works on its maintaining, restoration and reconstruction. So the main task that faced us was not striving for the most realistic image of model and its elements, but the working out of structurally reliable electronic "duplicate" of the monument (the maximum realism in this case became one of the results of the work done). In other words, in full accordance with the concept of BIM, a finished model should include not only comprehensive research information about the artistic peculiarities of the object, but its quantitative characteristics, admitting the possibility of additional introduction of engineering characteristics and further adjustment as a result of surveys held. |
