| Abstract |
The article is dedicated to the analysis of the modern systematization of the history of garden styles. The absence of the terminological discipline (especially concerning termini «style») is marked. The history goes as a description, but not a theory. History epochs show events and objects in gardening, without connections between world outlook and composition. There is no strict methodic of the stylistic evaluation of a garden spaces. The compositional continuity, as well as gradual formation and fade of a style cannot be seen. Depicting row of inner contradictions between the facts and the theory gives the reasons to change the theory.
